The sides of a living wall system are not attractive. Good Earth Plant Company recommends you recess them into the wall, use a frame, or add an edge treatment. Frames can be made of wood, metal, recycled plastic, or other materials.  Our shallow profile panels can be ordered with several different frames, which can be painted or stained to suit your décor. We suggest discussing the options with your designer and us to help you choose a product and color that will work best for you and your budget.

Good Earth Plant Company uses several different living wall systems to match your needs. Our shallow profile panels weigh approximately 10 – 15 pounds per square foot, completely gown out and fully saturated. Deep profile systems can weigh up to 25 pounds per square foot when fully saturated with water.

There are so many benefits associated with living walls. Among many of them, are that living walls conserve energy by insulating the building envelope, reducing the need for heating in the winter and cooling in the summer. They create biodiversity conservation opportunities, and can absorb and filter storm water, which reduces local water body pollution and helps prevent the overwhelming of municipal storm water infrastructure. Living walls also filter air particulates, improving air quality and help to reduce the urban heat island effect (UHI).
