Time for something a little different on the Good Earth Plant Company blog this week. You can listen instead of read!
I recently spent an hour on the “It’s Your Life” radio show in San Diego, which is also a podcast on all platforms. The theme of the show: “Bringing the Living World of Plants Into Our Everyday Life.” I couldn’t have done better myself!
Host Jim Cooley and co-host Michelle Cooley (yes, they’re husband and wife) put their curiosity and interviewing skills to good use. They both asked all about plants, plantscaping, living walls, moss walls, green roofs, biophilia and biophilic design – and more. We even discussed one of my favorite topics: Japanese forest bathing or “Shinrin-yoku” which was featured during the Tokyo 2020 Olympics coverage on NBC. I wrote about it in 2016.
The podcast version of the show is now out! Give it a listen – and a share if you find it worthwhile.
The Cooleys asked me to define specific terms for the listeners, such as plantscaping and interiorscaping. We sometimes forget these need to be explained.
We covered a lot of ground, but those of you who know me won’t be surprised to learn I had a LOT more to say. It had been several months since I last did a live interview, and I admit to being a little rusty. I got warmed up fast and shook all the ring rust off. The Cooleys have graciously asked me back, so stay tuned!
One observation: there was not a SINGLE PLANT in the entire radio station! We need to fix this ASAP!
My sincere thanks to the Cooleys and producer Noah Dingley. You can hear new interviews nightly at 7 pm live on The Answer 96.1 / KCBQ AM 1170.
